LIMAVADY WOMAN CONVICTED OF £8,796 BENEFIT FRAUD
A woman was convicted at Limavady Magistrates’ Court today for fraudulently claiming Income Support, Jobseekers Allowance and Housing Benefit between June 2003 and November 2004.
Margaret McMichael (61), of Mount Eden, Limavady had failed to declare she was living with her partner and had falsely obtained £8,796. She was fined a total of £473 on 16 separate charges and ordered to pay £73 Court Costs.
She has already repaid the money she fraudulently received to the Social Security Agency.
This brings to 54 the number of successful prosecutions by the Agency so far this year.
