LURGAN MAN CONVICTED OF BENEFIT FRAUD
A man was convicted at Craigavon Magistrates' Court today for obtaining benefits to which he was not entitled.
Ryan Conlon (24) of Union Street, Lurgan was given a three year conditional discharge for wrongfully cashing Job Seeker's Allowance cheques to the value of £68.80. He will also have to repay the money he fraudulently claimed to the Social Security Agency.
This is the 27th conviction of 2007. Last year 257 convictions were secured by the Social Security Agency in its campaign against benefit fraud.
