BELFAST BENEFIT FRAUDSTER GETS COMMUNITY SERVICE

A woman was convicted at Castlereagh Magistrates' Court on 15 December for working whilst claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit.

Allison Harding (36), of Levin Drive, Tullycarnet was convicted for falsely obtaining £19,151 between August 2002 and February 2005. She was given 60 hours community service and ordered to pay £19 costs. She is also required to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.

This is the 249th successful prosecution by the Social Security Agency so far this year.
