LURGAN WOMAN CONVICTED OF £21,780 BENEFIT FRAUD

A woman was convicted at Craigavon Magistrates' Court yesterday for obtaining Income Support and Housing Benefit fraudulently.

Andrea Toland (44), of Hill Street, was convicted for falsely obtaining £21,780. She was given a four month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to pay £110 costs. She is also required to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.

This is the 239th successful prosecution by the Social Security Agency so far this year.
