BELFAST MAN CONVICTED OF BENEFIT FRAUD
A man was convicted at Belfast Magistrates' Court today for obtaining benefits to which he was not entitled.
Raymond Doherty (40) of Stratford Gardens, Belfast, was found guilty of wrongfully cashing Disability Living Allowance cheques to the value of £892 and was fined £300. He will also have to repay the money he received to the Social Security Agency.
This is the 237th conviction secured by the Social Security Agency this year in its campaign against benefit fraud.
