BELFAST WOMAN CONVICTED OF £11,000 BENEFIT FRAUD
A woman was convicted at Belfast Magistrates' Court today for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.
Marie Kane (40) of Isadore Avenue, Belfast had claimed Income Support, Invalid Care Allowance and Housing Benefit to the value of £11,228 while working. She was given a 12 month conditional discharge and will also have to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.
This is the 234th conviction secured by the Social Security Agency this year in its campaign against benefit fraud.
