BELFAST BENEFIT FRAUDSTER GIVEN COMMUNITY SERVICE

A man was convicted at Newtownards Magistrates' Court today for working whilst claiming Job Seekers Allowance and Housing Benefit.

Brett Crossen (30), of Lower Windsor Avenue, was convicted for falsely obtaining £2,969 from April 2002 to February 2004. He was given 140 hours community service. He is also required to repay the money he received to the Social Security Agency.

This is the 219th successful prosecution by the Social Security Agency so far this year.
