BELFAST WOMAN CONVICTED OF BENEFIT FRAUD

A woman was convicted at Belfast Magistrates' Court today for obtaining Income Support and Housing Benefit fraudulently.

Kathleen McQuade (43), of Glenalina Road was convicted for falsely obtaining £12,556 from September 2003 to July 2005. She was given a six month suspended sentence. She is also required to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.

This is the 216th successful prosecution by the Social Security Agency so far this year.
