CASTLEDERG MAN GETS SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR BENEFIT FRAUD
A man was convicted at Strabane Magistrates' Court yesterday for obtaining benefits to which he was not entitled.
Seamus Bogle (41) of Castlefinn Road, Castlederg was given a three month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months for claiming Income Support to the value of £9,856 while failing to report that he was working. The offences occurred between December 2003 and December 2004. Mr Bogle will also have to repay the money he received to the Social Security Agency.
This is the 212th conviction secured by the Social Security Agency this year in its campaign against benefit fraud.
