WOMAN GETS CONDITIONAL DISCHARGE FOR BENEFIT FRAUD
A woman was convicted at Belfast Magistrate's Court today for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.
Jacqueline McMahon (41) of Clonfadden Crescent, Belfast, was found guilty of wrongfully cashing Income Support cheques to the value of £549. She was fined £150 and given a one year conditional discharge on two separate charges. Ms McMahon will also have to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.
This conviction is the 172nd secured by the Social Security Agency this year in its campaign against benefit fraud.
