BELFAST WOMAN CONVICTED OF BENEFIT FRAUD
A woman was convicted at Belfast Magistrates Court today for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.
Ethel Edna Weir (44) of North Queen Street was fined £75 and given a 12 month conditional discharge for wrongfully cashing Income Support cheques to the value of £230.
Miss Weir has to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.
This conviction is the 161st secured by the Social Security Agency this year in its campaign against benefit fraud.
