WOMAN GETS CONDITIONAL DISCHARGE FOR BENEFIT FRAUD

A woman was convicted at Belfast Magistrates Court today for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.

Deborah McMullan (37) of Pollard Close, Belfast was given a 2 year conditional discharge for claiming Income Support to the value of £2,377 while working. The offences occurred between April 2003 and March 2004. Miss McMullan has to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.

This conviction is the 153rd secured by the Social Security Agency this year in its campaign against benefit fraud.
