BALLYCLARE MAN CONVICTED OF BENEFIT FRAUD
A man who claimed Disability Living Allowance to which he was not entitled was convicted at Castlereagh Magistrates' Court yesterday.
Paul Burns (41), of Ballycorr Mews, Ballyclare, was given a three month jail sentence, suspended for two years, He had claimed a total of £3,108 between June 2003 and January 2004 and is required by the Social Security Agency to repay this money.
This is the 149th successful prosecution by the SSA for benefit fraud so far this year.
