Belfast Man Convicted Of Benefit Fraud

BELFAST MAN CONVICTED OF BENEFIT FRAUD
A man was convicted at Belfast Magistrates' Court today for wrongfully cashing giros while claiming Jobseekers Allowance.
Trevor Knocker (32), of Mackey Street, was convicted for falsely obtaining Ł726.78 between February 2004 and June 2005. He was given a Ł450 fine and ordered to pay Ł56 costs. He is also required to repay the money he received to the Social Security Agency.
This is the 148th successful prosecution by the Social Security Agency so far this year.
