LARNE WOMAN FINED £900 FOR BENEFIT FRAUD

A woman was fined £900 at Larne Magistrates' Court today for claiming Income Support to which she was not entitled.

Shirley McCalmont (36), of Drumahoe Road, was convicted for falsely claiming £1,859 between December 2002 and March 2003. She is also required to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.

This is the 141st successful prosecution by the Social Security Agency so far this year.
