WOMAN GETS SUSPENDED SENTENCE FOR BENEFIT FRAUD
A woman was convicted at Newtownards Magistrate's Court today for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.
Cara Pratt (25) of Barclay Manor, Dromara was given a 16 month suspended sentence for claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit to the value of £17,200 while failing to declare that she was living with her partner.
Miss Pratt has to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.
This conviction is the 111th secured by the Social Security Agency this year in its campaign against benefit fraud.
