ENNISKILLEN WOMAN RECEIVES CONDITIONAL DISCHARGE FOR BENEFIT FRAUD

A woman was convicted at Enniskillen Magistrates Court yesterday for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.

Emma McLaughlin (20) of Barbour Court, Enniskillen was given an 18 month conditional discharge for wrongfully cashing benefit cheques to the value of £207.

Ms McLaughlin also has to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.

This case is the latest success in the Social Security Agency's campaign against benefit fraud. There have been 97 successful convictions since the start of the year.
