LISBURN WOMAN GIVEN CONDITIONAL DISCHARGE FOR BENEFIT FRAUD

Linda Henderson (33) of Lagan Walk, Lisburn, was found guilty of benefit fraud at Lisburn Magistrates Court yesterday.

She was convicted of wrongfully cashing Social Fund cheques to the value of £783 to which she not entitled, and given a two year conditional discharge for the offence. She has to repay the money to the Social Security Agency.

The Social Security Agency has now secured 72 convictions in its campaign against benefit fraud since January 2006.
