BANGOR WOMAN CONVICTED OF £14,000 BENEFIT FRAUD
A woman was convicted at Belfast Magistrates Court on 25 April for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.
Janina Barron (41), of Hazel View, Bangor was fined £100 after being found guilty of claiming Invalid Care Allowance to the value of £14,654 while working. The offences occurred between April 1997 and April 2004.
Miss Barron has to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.
This case is the latest success in the Social Security Agency's campaign against benefit fraud. There have been 68 successful convictions since the start of the year.
