BALLYCLARE WOMAN CONVICTED OF BENEFIT FRAUD
A woman was convicted at Belfast Magistrates Court yesterday for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.
Maria Kitson (43) of Grange Drive, Ballyclare was given a two year conditional discharge for claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit to the value of £4430 to which she was not entitled as she was working.
Mrs Kitson was also required to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.
This case is the latest success in the Social Security Agency's campaign against benefit fraud. There have been 54 successful convictions since the start of the year.
