LARNE WOMAN CONVICTED OF £11,000 BENEFIT FRAUD
A woman was convicted at Larne Magistrate's Court today for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.
Anna McColm (44), of Ballymena Road, Larne was fined £1,600 after being found guilty of claiming Income Support and Housing Benefit to the value of £11,190 while working. The offences occurred between November 2002 and February 2004.
Mrs McColm has to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.
This case is the latest success in the Social Security Agency's campaign against benefit fraud. There have been 41 successful convictions since the start of the year.
