PORTADOWN WOMAN CONVICTED OF BENEFIT FRAUD

A woman was convicted at Craigavon Magistrate's Court yesterday for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.

Natalie Muldrew (36), of Tullyroan Drive, Portadown was given a 12 month conditional discharge after being found guilty of claiming Incapacity Benefit to the value of £115 while working. The offences occurred during July 2004.

Mrs Muldrew has to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.

This case is the latest success in the Social Security Agency's campaign against benefit fraud. There have been 39 successful convictions since the start of the year.
