POSTAL BENEFIT PAYMENTS SET TO RESUME
The Social Security Agency has advised customers affected by the postal dispute that postal delivery of benefit cheques will resume from Wednesday this week.
Normal postal delivery of benefit cheques will recommence for payments due from and including Wednesday 22 February.
Meanwhile, people due to receive payment today (Monday 20 February) and tomorrow (Tuesday 21 February) should still collect their payment from the nearest Post Office on proof of identity. This applies to postcode areas BT1, 2,3,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15 and 17 only.
The recent dispute affected only a minority of Social Security Agency customers as 96pc of benefits are now paid directly into bank or post office accounts.
