IMPROVING THE DELIVERY OF CHILD SUPPORT
Social Development Minister David Hanson has welcomed the publication of the Operational Improvement Plan for the Great Britain Child Support Agency which is published today.
Mr Hanson said: "I want to see the Northern Ireland Child Support Agency significantly improving the service it offers to parents and we will be studying these proposals carefully.
"Non-resident parents must meet their obligations and more rigorous enforcement action will be undertaken against those who choose not to accept or meet their financial responsibilities.
"As a result, we will significantly improve the level of service for clients and the level of compliance and bring all work up to date by 2008."
A copy of the Operational Improvement Plan is available on the Great Britain Child Support Agency internet site www.csa.gov.uk
The Government has also asked Sir David Henshaw to make proposals for redesigning future policy and delivery arrangements for child support.
