BANGOR WOMAN GETS COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR BENEFIT FRAUD
A woman was convicted at Bangor Magistrates' Court today for falsely claiming benefits whilst she was in employment.
Lyndsey Graham (28), of Hill Crest, Bangor, was sentenced to 200 hours of community service. She had received a total of £3,180 in Income Support and Housing Benefit between October 2003 and March 2004 to which she was not entitled. The Social Security Agency also requires that she repays this money.
This is the 19th successful prosecution for benefit fraud taken by the Social Security Agency since January 1. Last year the Agency prosecuted a total of 196 people.
