WOMAN SENTENCED TO COMMUNITY SERVICE FOR BENEFIT FRAUD
A woman was convicted at Enniskillen Magistrates Court today for obtaining benefits to which she was not entitled.
Jacqueline Maguire (37), of Millrace View, Lisnaskea was sentenced to 100 hours of community service after being found guilty of wrongfully claiming Incapacity Benefit and Income Support to the value of £1,842. The offences occurred between December 2002 and September 2003.
Ms Maguire has to repay the money she received to the Social Security Agency.
This case is the latest success in the Social Security Agency's campaign against benefit fraud. There have been 15 successful convictions since the start of the year. Last year 196 convictions were achieved.
