ROY ADAIR APPOINTED TO LAGANSIDE BOARD

The Department for Social Development has confirmed the appointment of Roy Adair, Belfast Harbour Commissioners Chief Executive to the Laganside Board.

The appointment takes effect from 1 January 2006.

Mr Adair was formerly joint Managing Director and part owner of Irlandus Circuits, Craigavon and has previously held a number of senior management positions with Smtek Europe, Flexibox and Rothmans International.

A member of both the Institute of Directors and the Northern Ireland Board of Business in the Community, he is married with three children.

Laganside was established in 1989, to regenerate both banks of the River Lagan in Belfast. The Board consists of a Chairperson and up to nine members. One member respectively is appointed from Belfast City Council and Belfast Harbour Commissioners after consultation with these bodies.

Board members receive a salary of £7,815 per annum.
