BANBRIDGE WOMAN FINED FOR BENEFIT FRAUD

A Banbridge woman who claimed Income Support despite having savings was found guilty at Banbridge Courthouse today.

Margaret Baxter (38), of Golf Terrace, Banbridge was fined £200 for falsely claiming over £3,000 in Income Support Benefit in the period between May 2002 and February 2003. She has already repaid the money she received back to the Social Security Agency.

This is the 187th successful conviction secured by the Social Security Agency since January 2005.
