ENNISKILLEN MAN SENTENCED TO COMMUNITY SERVICE

A man was sentenced to 200 hours community service at Enniskillen Court today for falsely claiming Income Support and Job Seekers Allowance.

Vincent Rodgers (28), of Yoan Road, had cashed giro cheques totalling £287 to which he was not entitled between September 2003 and December 2003. He was sentenced to 200 hours of community service and is required by the Social Security Agency to repay the money he received.

This case continues the success of the Social Security Agency's campaign against benefit fraud, and brings the total number of convictions this year to 186.
