DUNGANNON BENEFIT CHEAT SENTENCED

Local man Brian Boyle was convicted recently in Dungannon Magistrates' Court for defrauding the Social Security Agency. He failed to declare that he was working whilst receiving Jobseekers Allowance and had falsely received nearly £700 over a period of less than one month.

In addition to repaying the money, Mr Boyle (61) of Corrainey Gardens, Dungannon, was sentenced to a fine of £75 and ordered to pay £28 costs.

This is the latest in a series of prosecutions brought by the Agency in its drive to clamp down on benefit fraud.
