LIMAVADY BENEFIT CHEAT SENTENCED
Limavady woman, Jacqueline Harbinson, was convicted in Limavady Court recently for defrauding the Social Security Agency. She had failed to declare a change of circumstances when she started living with her partner. She had falsely received more than £1700 Income Support and more than £700 in Housing Benefit.
In addition to repaying the money, Ms Harbinson (43) of Rosseden Park, Limavady was sentenced to a fine of £250 on each of the two charges and was ordered to pay £31 court costs. She was given 26 weeks to pay.
This is the latest of a series of prosecutions brought by the Agency in its drive to clamp down on benefit fraud.
