BELFAST BENEFIT CHEAT CAUGHT

A Belfast woman, Suzanne Lowry, was convicted in Laganside Magistrates Court recently for wrongly claiming benefits from the Social Security Agency.

Miss Lowry, 26, of Lyndhurst Gardens, Belfast had failed to declare her savings when claiming benefit. In addition to repaying £1,500, Miss Lowry was fined £100.

This is the latest of a series of prosecutions brought by the Agency in its drive to clamp down on benefit fraud.
