LISBURN BENEFIT CHEAT CAUGHT

Desmond Cunningham, from Lisburn, was recently convicted of fraudulently obtaining money from the Social Security Agency.

Mr Cunningham (53), of Tirowen Drive, Lisburn, did not declare his partner’s wages and, over a period of three years, received over £15,000 to which he was not entitled.

Mr Cunningham was ordered to pay costs and was given a probation order for a period of nine months on each of 19 charges.

This is one of the latest of a series of prosecutions brought by the Agency in its drive to clamp down on benefit fraud.
