KILLYLEAGH COUPLE CONVICTED OF BENEFIT FRAUD

Killyleagh couple, George and Alison Fitzpatrick, have recently been convicted for wrongly claiming benefits from the Social Security Agency.

George Fitzpatrick (41) of Sloane Crescent, Killyleagh was fraudulently in receipt of Invalid Care Allowance and Alison Fitzpatrick (48) of the same address failed to declare to Income Support her husband’s earnings.

Between them their overpayments amounted to nearly £3,000 over a period of a year and, in addition to repaying the overpayments, they were also ordered to pay £1,700 and £28 costs.

This is the latest of a series of prosecutions brought by the Agency in its drive to clamp down on benefit fraud.
