COLERAINE BENEFIT CHEAT CONVICTED
Another benefit cheat has been caught for fraudulently claiming benefits from the Social Security Agency.
Ms Kerry Millar, (27), of 30B, Rosemary Place, Coleraine was caught for fraudulently claiming income support and housing benefit amounting to an overpayment of £2400 while working. Ms Millar was fined and ordered to pay the costs of the court.
In her defence, Ms Millar told the court that she did not realise she was committing an offence as she was in between moving houses, and was living with her fiancé.
The magistrate told Ms Millar that full details of any change in circumstances must be reported to the Social Security Agency when claiming benefit.
Ms Millar is also required to pay back to the Social Security Agency, the £2400 she falsely claimed.
