DSD MAKES VESTING ORDER TO ALLOW VICTORIA SQUARE SCHEME TO PROCEED
The Department for Social Development today announced that it intends to make a Vesting Order to acquire the properties required for the new Victoria Square Development Scheme.
John Spellar, MP, Minister with responsibility for Social Development said:
"My Department will make the Vesting Order in the interests of the people of Belfast and the whole of Northern Ireland. My predecessor, Des Browne, MP, announced in June that he was minded to compulsorily purchase the properties required for the Victoria Square Development Scheme, subject to a 28-day consultation period.
"I can confirm that no new issues arose during that consultation and therefore the Vesting Order will be made within the next few days."
