APPOINTMENTS TO THE BOARD OF LAGANSIDE CORPORATION
The Minister with responsibility for Social Development, Des Browne MP today announced the re-appointment of Ms. Ann-Marie Slavin, Mr. George Priestley and Ms. Jane Morrice to the Board of the Laganside Corporation.
This will be the second appointment for each member and takes effect from 14 June 2003. Board members receive a salary of £7,815 per annum.
NOTES TO EDITORS:
The Laganside Corporation is an executive Non-Departmental Public Body, established under the Laganside Development (NI) Order 1989, to secure the regeneration of Belfast’s riverside and waterfront areas. The Laganside Order provides for a Board comprising a Chairperson and up to nine members. One member respectively is appointed from Belfast City Council and Belfast Harbour Commissioners after consultation with these bodies.
Guidance for the Office of the Commissioner for Public Appointments in Northern Ireland provides that board members who have satisfactorily served a first term, may be re-appointed for a second term, subject to the agreement of all parties.

Biographical Details

Mr George Priestley OBE, Freeman of the City of London lives in Craigavad. He is the former National Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Limited. In addition to his post on Laganside’s Board, Mr Priestley is:

Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster.
Ms Jane Morrice lives in Bangor and is the Former Head of the European Commission Office in Northern Ireland. Ms Morrice is a member of NI Women's Coalition. In addition to her post on Laganside’s Board, Ms Morrice is:
