MINISTER LOOKS FORWARD TO CHALLENGE OF SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT

Welcoming his appointment as Minister for Social Development, Maurice Morrow, MLA, said: "The Department for Social Development has a key role to play in tackling disadvantage and improving the quality of life of communities and individuals right across Northern Ireland. I look forward to meeting this challenge and ensuring the good work started by my predecessor, Nigel Dodds, is maintained.

"Social Development has a key role to play in housing, urban regeneration, social security, child support and in the community and voluntary sectors. In all of these areas, delivering good public services in a professional and equitable manner to those most in need, will be a key priority for me as Minister."
