WESTLINK UPDATE

Drivers should be aware of an overnight closure this week at Stockman's Lane, Belfast, as beams for the new city-bound bridge are erected.

Part of Stockman's Lane roundabout will be closed on Friday, 26th January from 10pm - 6am.between the country bound on-slip and the city bound off-slip. This will only affect traffic from Stockman's Lane who wish to go to Kennedy Way or towards Belfast on the motorway.

Traffic will be diverted onto the M1 country bound, exit at Black's Road, turn right at bottom of the off-slip, along Black's Road, turn right onto M1 city bound and either exit at Stockman's Lane or keep on the motorway towards Belfast.

Diversion signs will be in place.

Attention is again drawn to the 30mph speed limit through the works from Stockman's Lane to Divis Street. This speed limit is necessary because of the changing road lay-outs and narrow lanes within the works. The PSNI have advised that they are actively enforcing this speed limit and motorists who break the speed limit risk being prosecuted.

Access to the Royal Group of Hospitals (RGH) will not be affected.
