ROADS SERVICE INVEST OVER £800k IN FERMANAGH
Roads Service has announced that over £800K will be invested in minor capital schemes in the Fermanagh Council area this year.
Speaking in advance of the Department for Regional Developments Roads Service's autumn meeting with Fermanagh District Council, the Divisional Roads Manager, Mr Pat Doherty, said: "The scheme on the B82 Kesh Road at Ballycassidy Bridge has been completed and this involved bridge widening to facilitate provision of a right turn lane and enhanced pedestrian facilities. The traffic calming scheme at Windmill Heights, Coleshill and Rossory Church Road has also been completed.
"Other schemes that will hopefully be taken forward in the current financial year include the provision of a roundabout at Trory junction, visibility improvements on the A4 Sligo Road in the vicinity of Abohill Road and traffic calming schemes at Clabby and Brookeborough."
The Roads Service report also contained the draft capital programme for 2007-2009. New schemes include a road realignment and change of priorities at Brookeborough Road/Main Street Maguiresbridge and a sightline improvement at Springfield junction on the Monea Road, Enniskillen.
