SERIOUS ACCIDENT ON M1 - UPDATE 12.30pm

Following a road traffic collision this morning the M1 remains closed in both directions from Saintfield Road Roundabout, Lisburn to Stockman's Lane junction. The latest information from the PSNI is that this closure will be in place until at least 4:00 pm.

The collision has occurred on the M1 motorway between Black's Road and Stockman's Lane.

The site is under the control of the PSNI. Roads Service and the contractor are assisting PSNI to complete their investigation.

Roads Service staff are monitoring traffic conditions using CCTV and adjusting traffic signals to minimise delays into and through Belfast. Information is also being provided to motorists using the Motorway Control Systems.
