ROADS SERVICE ANNOUNCES RESURFACING WORK ON BANBRIDGE TO CASTLEWELLAN ROAD
Roads Service today announced that a resurfacing scheme, with a value of over £100,000, is to be carried out on the A50, Banbridge to Castlewellan Road.
Resurfacing work, in the vicinity of Ballyward, is scheduled to begin on Monday 18 April 2005 and is expected to last for two weeks. During this period, the section of road affected will be closed to traffic from Monday to Friday each week, reopening over the weekend in an effort to minimise disruption. To further reduce the period of disruption, preparation work will commence during the previous week.
Diversion routes will be signposted. Traffic travelling from Banbridge will be diverted along the B7 Moneyslane Road, C322 Ballymackilreiny Road, C322 Ballydrumman Road and C323 Leitrim Road. Traffic travelling towards Banbridge will be diverted along C325 Clanmaghery Road, C325 Lackan Road and B7 Dromara Road.
This work will cause some delays to traffic and Roads Service wishes to apologise for any inconvenience. Unfortunately, for health and safety reasons the work cannot be carried out without closing the road, but every effort is being made to minimise the disruption, without adversely affecting the safety of road users or of operatives on the site.
