WEEKEND ROAD CLOSURES AT BOUCHER ROAD

Major roadworks are currently underway on Boucher Road, between Tate’s Avenue and Apollo Road. It will be essential to close this section of Boucher Road, to southbound traffic, for set periods over the next three weekends, to complete various surfacing operations.

The details of the road closures are as follows:

Boucher Road, southbound, from Tate’s Avenue to Apollo Road, will be closed to through traffic, from 9.00pm on Saturday 15 January 2005 to 12.00pm on Sunday 16 January 2005, and from 9.00pm on Saturday 22 January 2005 to 12.00pm on Sunday 23 January 2005.

A diversion route, via Tate’s Avenue, Lisburn Road and Stockman’s Lane, will be signed for southbound traffic. One lane will remain in operation for northbound traffic.

The road will be subject to further closures on the weekend of 29 and 30 January 2005, and possibly on another weekend in February 2005. However, this will depend, as will the closures listed above, on weather conditions and scheme progression. The timing of these additional closures will be confirmed at a later date.

In addition to these closures, it will be necessary to implement lane restrictions, at off-peak traffic times, until mid February 2005, to complete preparation work.

DRD Roads Service has informed local businesses and residents, and advance information signs are in place at each end of the scheme.
