Enniskillen Sewerage Scheme Update

ENNISKILLEN SEWERAGE SCHEME UPDATE
As part of the Water Service Ł2.9 million scheme to upgrade the sewerage network within the Enniskillen area, work will recommence on 3rd January 2005 on the Queen Elizabeth Road.

A DRD Water Service spokesperson said: "The sewer pipeline along this road is being increased in size to reduce the discharges into the River Erne and on the Wellington Road two 12.5m diameter tanks storage tanks are currently being constructed in the Castle Park car park.

"The tanks are being sunk by a controlled engineering technique through very soft peat and underlying limestone bedrock. A specialist contractor is being employed to deal with this extremely difficult piece of Civil Engineering.

"A number of car parking spaces will be unavailable during this period of construction and Water Service has provided alternative parking area adjacent to the Lakeland Forum. This work is due for completion in March 2005.
