PROPOSED ROUNDABOUT CONSTRUCTION AT JUNCTION OF A26/A50 (BANNVILLE HOTEL)
Work on a £400,000 scheme to construct a roundabout at the junction of the A50 Lurgan Road (Gilford – Banbridge), and A26 Tullyrain Road is expected to get underway next Monday, (27 September). The contract, which is expected to last for about 20 weeks, has been awarded to civil engineering contractor, Gibson (BANBRIDGE) Ltd.
The work will require a road closure for approximately 10 weeks from the start of the contract to remove a crest on the Tullyrain Road and a diversion route will be in place via the Broken Bridge Road.
A Roads Service spokesperson said: "Although every effort will be made to minimize disruption some delays are expected, particularly at peak traffic times, and motorists are asked to observe the signs and proceed with the necessary care and attention.
"The scheme will significantly improve the overall safety of the junction for road users and improve visibility on all the approach roads."
