DRD MINISTER WELCOMES EXTENDED LONDON SERVICE

Regional Development Minister, Peter Robinson MP MLA, today welcomed British Midland’s announcement that it is to introduce early morning and late evening flights between Belfast International Airport and London Heathrow.

The new service is to begin on 1 April with the first flight out of Belfast every morning, with the exception of Saturday, at 7.00 am.

Mr Robinson said: "As Minister responsible for transport and air and seaports, I am delighted with this announcement, as I have been pushing for this for some time.

"This 7.00 am flight and the 9.50 pm flight from Heathrow, which will operate until the end of October, will be a great boost to business people who need to travel to London and back on the same day."
