COMMUNICATING WITH STAFF ON REFORMS A PRIORITY - HANSON
Public sector staff affected by the far reaching reform programme will be kept fully informed about what is proposed, Minister of State David Hanson MP, said today.
The Minister was speaking as a new information bulletin was being distributed to around 180,000 public sector staff, who may be affected by the Review of Public Administration (RPA).
Mr Hanson said: "The RPA will result in the biggest reorganisation of the public sector in Northern Ireland for more than 30 years. It aims to reduce wasteful bureaucracy and redirect resources to front line services.
"Our staff is our most important resource and it is essential that they are kept fully informed about the implications the RPA may have on their organisations and their jobs. That is why we have in place a range of local communications mechanisms, so our people know where they can get further information.
"Today we are issuing a new information bulletin for all the staff in the public sector. It gives up to date information on progress with RPA implementation and details on guidelines issued to employers. By keeping staff informed, we hope to ensure they continue to provide the high level of services the Northern Ireland public expects and deserves."
