NEW ENVIRONMENT MINISTER SAM FOSTER THANKS PUBLIC FOR MESSAGES OF SUPPORT
New Environment Minister, Mr Sam Foster, today thanked the countless well wishers who have contacted him with messages of congratulations on his new post.
Speaking from his Department of Environment office at Clarence Court, Belfast, Mr Foster said:
"I am grateful, honoured, and indeed humbled by the overwhelming messages of support I have received from all sections of the community since taking up office.
"I would like to thank everyone for their kind words. All Government Ministers will face many challenges in their new Departments and Environment is no different. I can assure everyone that I will meet these challenges with fairness and integrity.
"I intend to work hard to ensure that the Government of Northern Ireland will become a force for the good of the people. After all, what we as politicians are about, is serving the people."
Mr Foster continued:
"I would also like to wish everyone a happy Christmas and a healthy, happy and peaceful New Year. Further, the new Millennium will be a challenge to all of us to show Christian virtues at all times."
