DVLNI VOLUNTEERS FOR CHRISTMAS
Big hearted staff from the DOE Driver Vehicle Licensing (NI) Agency (DVLNI) are organising a party today for over 40 children from the Home-Start organisation.
Home-Start is a registered charity organisation where volunteers offer regular support and practical help to young families under stress. They also help to prevent family crisis and breakdown, giving support to families affected by bereavement, job loss or alcohol/drug related difficulties.
Brendan Magee, Chief Executive of DVLNI explained: "Each year the Agency undertakes a "Business in the Community" challenge as part of the Employer Supported Volunteering initiative. We actively encourage such initiatives which enable our staff to make a different and positive contribution to the local community.
"To meet the challenge of providing a party for the children, we have had to organise a number of fund raising events. I would like to thank all local businesses who gave donations, provided services and gifts for the event"
A magician, bouncy castle, party games and face painting will ensure a fun filled day and a special visitor may even find time to call by.
