NOTE TO EDITORS:
There has been reference in some media sources recently to a cut in the Department of Environment's Road Safety Budget.
There has been no cut in the Road Safety budget.
The Road Safety budget set for the current financial year is £2.4 million.
The Road Safety budget for the next financial year, which was agreed by the Executive and presented to the Assembly, is £2.4 million.
The DOE was successful in obtaining an extra £100,000 late in this financial year, from the overall budget for N Ireland, to assist with the launch of the new anti-speeding campaign 'Slowdownboys'.
The DOE will continue to make similar bids for additional funding in the next financial year.
